A Saturday music school by Edinburgh Napier’s music department
Aimed at music students aged 14-17, our highly practical courses focus on creating and producing music while also teaching valuable technical skills in the use of music software, such as:
· Logic Pro
· Pro Tools
The course has been created to compliment SQA Music Technology qualifications in secondary school, whilst providing additional depth and context to learning in this area. You’ll also have the opportunity to undertake additional classes that cover Rockschool Music Production syllabus, to help you prepare for graded exams in music production.
Our online learning platform, Moodle, will support you with extra activities and resources outside class.
How you’ll be taught
The full course is taught over three terms, and you can choose to study the entire programme or a single term. Each Saturday (from 10:00-12:00), you’ll receive a two-hour lecture/practical class in our Music Lab or Studio.
This is a new course by Edinburgh Napier University’s Music Department and will begin in September 2019.
There is a fee of £200 per term.

Rockschool Music Production
Similar to the Associate Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) graded exams in musical performance, it is now possible to study graded exams in music production.
In terms two and three, you’ll have the opportunity to undertake additional classes that cover the Rockschool Music Production syllabus, to help prepare you for the exams.
These new graded exams can be used to help strengthen your applications to music technology programmes at college or university. It is expected that anyone opting to take these classes is enrolled on our general music technology classes.
There is a fee of £100 per term (term two and three) + exam fees. Classes will run from 12:30-13:30.
Students need to supply their own headphones and books for the Rockshool Music Production course.
